As all things in life there is a thing called compatibility that plays a VERY large part of success vs. failure.
Now my place of employment has some compatibility issues... obviously. There are compatibility issues with Management styles, employees and team settings, skill sets to positions which I will cover in other postings here and there I promise! But the big compatibility issue here today is MAC vs. the working world.
Now I understand that MAC is a great platform (if you’re into the arts or gaming or simple killing time stuff, don't get me wrong I love my iPhone) however... in the real world where productivity is money is it really necessary to blow our budgets out of the water buying expensive computers just to have to spend more money on specialty software to allow us productivity with the rest of the office... then to add to the expense there is the very time consuming and costly training staff on the programs as normal educated people support PC as that is what the Universities say the majority of business use. Oh and let’s not forget the loss of productivity and increase in frustration of employee's when even after all the implementation costs and training are done it still does not work the way it is supposed to and you spend four hours doing the same process over and over just to achieve continued failure!
Now if that was not enough... When that continued failure is achieved and you have lost all productivity and have nothing but frustration to show for your day... you know catch shit from the boss for not achieving their deadlines or goals...
This is just my opinion... but! If you do not set someone up with all the tools needed for success (i.e. working technology, correct and accurate information of a task and complete full circle training of a process) do you really have the right to be surprised or even angry by their failure?
It's no different than telling a dog not to pee in your house and then not coming home for 16 hours to let him out! What was he supposed to do use the toilet?
